Friendly Fire is an international esports franchise that brings gaming and community together. The first Dutch location opened in Rotterdam and marks the starting point of Friendly Fire’s further expansion in the Netherlands. With ambitious growth plans, Friendly Fire aims to open multiple locations across the country in the coming years, giving gamers throughout the Netherlands a place to game together and connect with one another.
The company is led by a team of expat directors who had only recently relocated to the Netherlands when they founded the company. An exciting step, but one that came with a complication: hiring staff in a country whose labor laws were unfamiliar to them.
"The biggest challenge was Dutch labor law," says Artem Zhuravlev, director at Friendly Fire. "As expat directors who had just arrived, it was difficult to fully understand all the local rules and obligations."
The greatest benefit? No longer having to concern themselves with the HR side of their business.
"Everything is taken care of, from calculations and payroll processing to day-to-day administration. There's also a Nmbrs environment for both employees and employers, which makes everything easy to manage."
"So Toff thinks along with us and ensures we never have to question whether our HR matters are properly handled. That provides real peace of mind." - Artem, director at Friendly Fire
Friendly Fire also notices the difference in day-to-day collaboration. Questions are never left unanswered, and responses are never vague.
"The communication is excellent. The team responds quickly, and the answers are always clear, concise, and to the point. That makes working together straightforward and pleasant."
The result: a collaboration that runs smoothly, with no loose ends.
"Overall, the experience has been very positive. Everything runs smoothly, and we are fully satisfied with the collaboration."
Would Friendly Fire recommend So Toff to other companies? Without hesitation.
"I would certainly recommend So Toff to small and medium-sized companies seeking an experienced team to take full responsibility for their HR matters. It is more cost-efficient than hiring an in-house HR specialist, and you benefit immediately from established expertise. That is especially valuable for expat founders and directors unfamiliar with Dutch labor law and local procedures."
